Studies show that girls and women are either not pursuing STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) or they are leaving the technology industry in droves. According to industry leaders, technology jobs will double to 1.4 million by 2020. If women are not empowered and equipped to excel in STEM education and career opportunities, there will be an increasingly dire shortage of diversity in the field of technology. This travesty could also have an impact on women being able to help secure the legacy of future generations of women desiring to pursue STEM.
My Global STEM Academy, located in Wake County, North Carolina is a non-profit organization established in May 2019. The mission of My Global STEM Academy is empower and equip young girls and women with the core skills necessary to pursue and excel as modern day STEM leaders.
